An evening of Schubert’s songs

Professor Helene Joseph-Weil, mezzo-soprano and Hatem Nadim, piano A Schubert Liederabend - An Evening of Schubert’s Songs 

Assisted by Paul Murray, bass-baritone. Enjoy a winter’s night immersed in the songs of Franz Schubert. The program will focus on themes of the stars, water music, birds, love, famous women, and great writers. Such well-known songs as Schubert’s “Ave Maria”, “Die Forelle” and “Gretchen am Sprinnrade” will be combined with rarely heard solo vocal works by the Austrian master of the art-song. Complete texts and translations will be provided. Saturday, January 27, 2007 - 8 p.m.
