Fourth annual Service to the Community Expo Wednesday

On Wednesday, January 31st, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Office of Civic Engagement and Service-Learning will present the fourth annual Services to the Community Expo.  This event will provide students, staff, and faculty with an opportunity to gain information on dozens of nonprofit organizations and hundreds of community service-learning and career opportunities.  Last year’s event was a tremendous success and we anticipate increased results at this year’s Expo.
Fifty community agencies will have display tables set up inside the Satellite Student Union.  Participants will be able to find information on community agencies and learn how to contribute to those agencies through volunteer service, service-learning, internship, and career opportunities.  We would like to invite you, your students, faculty, and staff to come to the Expo and join us for this important event.
Numerous faculty members and students have successfully used participation in this event as a way to fulfill service-learning and community service assignments.  It is a great way to learn about various issues in the community, how those issues are being addressed and ways students can be involved.  We hope you will share this information with your students and encourage their participation.
Thank you for showing your support to those who commit to community service and service-learning.  Again, the Services to the Community Expo will take place inside the Satellite Student Union from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 31st.  Feel free to call the Office of Civic Engagement and Service-Learning at 278-7079 with any questions.
