Starting Feb. 12: Chestnut Avenue will remain closed to traffic moving between Shaw and Barstow Avenues. This is due to expansion work to expand the road from two to four lanes according to the university’s official Web site fresnostatenews.com. The university also announced that Parking Lot V, located west of the Save Mart Center, will also be closed for upgrading this spring. Monday Feb. 26: the Save Mart Center north lot will be closed to general parking due to an event that evening. Students who have class on the east side of campus are encouraged to use Maple Avenue to access Lots A and J. Barstow Avenue will become one way westbound between Willow and Woodrow Avenues beginning at 3:30 p.m.University Police Department Traffic Operations Officers and signage will be posted as necessary. March 2: DOG DAYS is looking for outgoing students who like to meet new people and have fun while working. Orientation leaders work during summer orientation to help new students get acclimated to the campus. You get to meet thousands of new students and get paid to socialize. Feb. 23: The film chronicles life in Ethiopia and the tumultuous events following years of war and revolution, especially its impact on women. Jackson spent a year in Ethiopia, researching, interviewing, and filming, under extraordinary conditions. Surviving Abyssinia was named Best Documentary Film at the Hollywood Black Film Festival 2000. Post-screening discussion by Dr. Elizabeth Jackson, film director, TV and video producer and professor from CSU, Bakersfield. 5:15 p.m. on Fridays. All films will be shown in McLane. Room 121.
