Campus emergency procedures to be revamped after V-Tech tragedy

A message to students, faculty, staff, parents and the community from the Office of University Communications.
The tragedy at Virginia Tech has raised concern at campuses around the nation, including Fresno State, about communication procedures for providing information and contacting students, faculty and staff in emergencies. No community is completely safe from such incidents, but it is possible to lessen their likelihood.

Based on the true story of screenwriter Oscar Torres’s embattled childhood, Luis Mandoki’s Innocent Voices is the poignant tale of Chava (Carlos Padilla), an eleven-year-old boy who suddenly becomes the “man of the house” after his father abandons the family in the middle of a civil war.
