GIVE A GOBBLER!

Fresno State students along with the faculty and staff on campus will help Give a Gobbler during the holidays.  The drive is a new effort to help the Poverello House and the Community Food Bank feed the area’s hungry will launch today, Tuesday December 2. 

You and your friends can go in together to purchase a $25 turkey from the Gibson Farm Market that will help feed the hungry in Fresno during the holidays.

It will provide the campus community and the public an opportunity to make a donation to help their less-fortunate neighbors by purchasing a Fresno State turkey that will be delivered to the two charities.Fresno State President John D. Welty and Associated Students. Inc. President Graham Wahlberg will be joined by members of Dr. Welty’s cabinet, who have all pledged to donate and will make the first purchases of Fresno State turkeys. Jim Connell, executive director of Poverello House, will attend the kickoff as well.Last week, President Welty and his Cabinet announced the drive and called upon the campus community to join the effort by donating turkeys through the Farm Market for $25 each. Each contribution will provide a 20-25 pound student-produced turkey to be donated in the contributor’s name. The community at large also may participate.  The president set a goal of 100 turkeys to be distributed to the two charities on Dec. 23. A donor board will be posted in the market tracking the drive’s progress.The Gibson Farm Market is located at the corner of Chestnut and Barstow on the northeast side of the Fresno State campus
