Cinco de Mayo celebrations

Semana de la Raza — Fresno State’s Cinco de Mayo observance — begins today at 11:30 a.m.
Semana de la Raza at Fresno State– a week-long cultural and education program around the Cinco de Mayo observance – begins today with a program from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and continues through May 8.
Today’s first event is in the Free Speech Area. There will be Aztec Dancers and a guest speaker on indigenous culture. At 7 p.m., guest speaker Mazatzin, a teacher of the Aztec/Mexican calendar history and culture, will speak in Engineering East Bldg. Room 191.
On May 5 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in The Pit, the celebration will include a speaker and entertainment by Los Danzantes de Aztlán, Fresno State’s Mexican folkloric student troupe, and the Fresno State Mariachi, also made up of students.
