Gmail Accounts for Students

The new Gmail service for Fresno State students is now available and students are encouraged to sign up.  The service, supported by Google, was launched in January by Information Technology Services (ITS) and over 175 students have already signed up for accounts.

With Gmail accounts, students will gain access to enhanced features such as added e-mail storage, Google Calendar and applications and Gmail Chat for better classmate interaction on projects.  Students can browse to http://googleapps.fresnostate.edu/ to convert their @csufresno.edu account to a Google Apps at Fresno State (@mail.fresnostate.edu) account and begin transferring e-mail from their old accounts.  Once students transfer their current e-mail to their Gmail account, e-mail from their old address will be automatically forwarded to the new account until June 30, giving them time to alert their contacts that their university e-mail address has changed. Students will have until April 30 to migrate to their new email accounts.

Students seeking help with the transition may access web-based help at https://help.csufresno.edu/students/googleapps/ or by calling the campus Help Desk at 559.278.7000. For more information contact ITS at 559.278.3923 or visit http://www.csufresno.edu/its/.
