This is the first time the Bulldogs have made the Top 25 in a preseason poll. However, we barely made the cut at No. 25.  While the Bulldogs have made the Top 25 in a previous year (2005) this is the first time they have made it to the preseason poll.

They also predict the Georgia Bulldogs will win the national title. Last week Fresno State was picked by the WAC Coaches to win the league title.

Georgia received 22 first place votes to be ranked No.1, followed by USC at No. 2, which had 14 first place votes. The Trojans and Bulldogs are the only two California schools ranked in the preseason Top 25.

Rutgers, Fresno State’s season opening opponent, received 53 points, good enough for 29th in the rankings.  Wisconsin, Fresno State’s home opening opponent is ranked No. 12 in the coaches poll.

However, the date is changed to Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 12:30 PT. Make sure you check your schedules and make the appropriate changes for tickets and whatnot because this is not a game to miss!! If you must miss it then you can catch the coverage on ABC or on KMJ 580.
